Images.
I still need to take more images of Lyndon in the different locations. I will find the best locations and mark them down so I am organised when I get to organised a day with Lyndon to take the hopefully final images.
Developments.
I have got the majority of my music video done now. I have finished the part of the song without lyrics and now in the progress of finishing the ending of the music video. I still need to film little sections of my music video which I need to fill with more shots. I haven't decided which shots I need yet, so when I have decided I will arrange another filming day and let Lyndon and Rachel know about the upcoming day.

Developing drafts.
I have been developing the drafts from the first draft I did. Here is the first draft:
Here is the first development I have made of the draft above:
Here you can see I have added an image which I am using as dominant image for the draft and won't be the final image. I chose this image as I could work with the rule of thirds which apply in this image.
Here is the second development of the draft:
I have moved the digi pack title and the artists name to the right of the digi pack so it isn't overlapping the artist in the image.
Here is the third development of the draft:
I have made the title of the digi pack bigger and also the name of the artist. This is to make these two important pieces of text stand out even more and they still don't over lap the artist in the image but fill the empty space within the image nicely.

Digi pack drafts.
I have begun drafting for my digi pack tonight and have come up with a few basic drafts which I can play around with. I will be using the drafts I have made to help me with ideas on the type of positions I will need the artist within the frame to be able to get each of the results shown below. Here are the first drafts of the different front covers I could use.

Organisation.
I am planning to use my time effectively now I have two pieces of work to do at along side each other. In the lesson time I have I will be concentrating on my music video. This is the only place I can get on with my music video as it is saved to a certain computer and I don't have the software at home to carry on with the making of the music video. At home I can get on with drafting my digi pack. I will be using Microsoft PowerPoint to draft the digi pack and as I get further on to making my digi pack I will have to use time at 6th form to do it as I don't have photoshop at home. As I don't have to save my digi pack to a certain computer I can do my digi pack in my free lessons at 6th form so I don't use up valuable music video making time.
Images
These are the images I took from the latest filming day. They are not the images I will use for my final digi pack, however is a start to finding the right image.
This image is simple with a long shot of the artist with a back ground of leaves. I like the background and I think would stand out on the shelves full of digi packs. I want to try this background again using different costume and lighting, also I will take more images from different angles and distances to see what looks good.
I do like the mid shot, I think a mid shot would make it easier for the artist to connect with the audience though his eyes to persuade them to buy his digi pack. I think I will have to get this photo with applying the rule of thirds, which will make it easier for me to add text of the album title and the name of the artist. It will also help the audience to focus on him if I use that rule as well.
I don't think the high angle shot on the stairs looks as effective as I thought it was going to look. However, if he was in a different position and maybe took at a different angle this maybe would have worked. I want to try the stairs shot again ont he next photo shoot.
I really like this shot and I find the authentic lamppost unusual and looks really good. However, I prefer this shot as a long shot rather than a mid shot so the whole lamppost is visable. I think I could use this shot for the back of the digi pack. I will take this shot again applying the rule of third so I can try it on the back of the digi pack.
I like this low angle mid shot of the artist, however I think the lamppost is dominating the shot as the artist is only in less than half of the frame with the lamppost in the full frame. I only think this shot would work as a long shot so the artist dominates the frame instead of the lamppost. I could move the frame down but the head of the lamppost would be cut off and thhis shot won't work without the top. I think I will only try the long shot of this on the next photo shoot day.
I like this long shot of the artist in an archway, however the background i think is too distracting. I think this would of worked without the dark colored door in the background. On the next photo shoot I will try this shot from the other way so the image doesn't have the door in it, I will have to be equipped with lots of lighting as the natural light will be too dull to use.
Overall I think the quick photo shoot was a success. I have realized what works and what doesn't work and from here I am going to go back to the location in Roos and take more shots which will be developments of the shots above and more.

Digi pack mind map.
I have made a mind map of ideas which I could try out to see which would be the best ideas to go ahead with for my digi pack.
I am going to take images including the elements within the mind map to vary my ideas even more and to develop new and improved ideas as well. This will be arranged later as I need to find all of the locations to take the images at.

Digi pack - rule of thirds.
I want to incorporate what I have learnt into the designing of my digi pack. I want to take into consideration the 'rule of thirds' when taking the images for the digi pack. The images I have already taken are not all sticking to the rule of thirds but I can adapt them to the rule on the next photo shoot. The rule of thirds looks like this:
The rule of thirds work on the lines shown in the image above. The human eye identifies what is on the lines clearer to anything that is not on the lines. As I want the artist to stand out as much as possible I know that applying the rule of thirds to my images for my digi pack will be beneficial in making him stand out among the background.
Here is an example of the rule of thirds applying to an image:

Progress.
I am pleased with the amount of work I have got done since I have come back from the holidays. My music video is coming along great, the longest process is cutting the shots down as my song is quite fast tempo'd at times. I want the shots to match the tempo of the music as then it is easy for the audience to watch and shows I have thought thoroughly about the editing.

Digi pack images.
The images I have captured may not be the final images I chose for my final layout of my digi pack. The images I took were not as controlled as I can do them as I had Lyndon in the same clothes as the music video, I only used the natural light and no extra artificial light and didn't change much of the background which I could of done. I will have to be in control when I capture my next shots when I have a clearer idea of what I want.
Tomorrows lesson.
Tomorrow is our first lesson back to media since we broke up last year. Now I have nearly all the shots I need I can really get on with my music video whilst adding in extra simple shots which I took of the artist for a variation of shots to keep the audience interested. Now I have some images I can start on a draft for my digi pack.

Filming day completed.
The day was a success and I got most of the shots I wanted to get. However, the shots I didn't get was the ones where Lyndon and Rachel are on the floor, as it started to get more cloudy therefore dark and didn't look as good as it could. The shot I want is to be done on grass so we can get that shot done anytime soon on a small patch of grass, which will hopefully be done in the next week.
Overall, the day has been successful and I now have a lot more shots I can work with during the editing process of my music video.
I managed to take a few still images of Lyndon as he is the artist and will be featured on the digi pack cover to promote him. I took them in Roos church surroundings and they look interesting, I will be doing some drafts soon from the images I took so I an see what works and what doesn't work for my digi pack.

Filming day.
Today I am filming the rest of my shots for my music video. I have the video camera, tripod, 2 towels (I want them to be laid on the floor for a shot) and the image camera for capturing digi pack draft images. Today will be going ahead as planned with the weather looking cloudy but still it isn't raining.

Filming day plan.
I am filming tomorrow (Wednesday 4th January 2012) the rest of the footage I need to finish my music video. I have the video camera and camera on charge and will stay on charge until the morning so I know they are fully charged. I have all the equipment I need to film, video camera, camera and tripod, I will also be taking my story boards to make sure I have every shot I need. I have asked Lyndon to come in the same clothes as when we filmed last time and Rachel to have her dress ready.
I have checked the EYMS bus timetable for bus 129 to get to Roos. I have chosen the time of 11:03am to depart from Withernsea with Lyndon (Rachel lives in Roos). We should arrive in Roos at 11:13am and from there we will go straight to Rachels house. Once we are ready we will walk to the location and I will capture everything I need.
The day shouldn't take too long as I only need to capture extra shots of the artist for a variety in my music video. This will hopefully allow us to catch the 2:43pm bus home from Roos to Withernsea which we should arrive at 2:53pm.
From checking the weather again on the BBC website, I have discovered that the weather for Wednesday 4th January 2012 may not be very good. However, it should not be raining in the time I wish to capture everything I need according to the BBC weather report.

Digi pack images.
On Wednesday 4th January 2012 I am filming the rest of my music video footage. Also, I thought it would be a great opportunity to capture some images of Lyndon (male artist) in those surroundings were i'm shooting the video footage. They will be experimental shots and will be done in the same clothes which he'll be wearing for the music video just for ease. I know the location will be great for capturing a few shots and will be the first step towards my digi pack. I will be using the church and the natural surroundings for the images and whatever may look good on the day.
Confirmation of filming day.
Since the text went out I have had confirmation from both Lyndon and Rachel informing me that they are available on Wednesday 4th January 2012. This filming day will go ahead hopefully with no problems. I will keep an eye on the weather for Wednesday and decide what time I wish to start filming according to weather and lighting. Now I shall make a list of all the shots I want to get. Most of the shots I want are simple shots of Lyndon as I want a variety of angles of him to go into the music video. This will help the audience relate to him if they know him all around. So close ups, mid shots and long shots will be taken. Also I didn't capture all the footage I wanted last time so that will be done on that day.
Informing of the filming day.
I have now informed Lyndon Jackets and Rachel Thompson of the filming day on Wednesday 4th January 2012. I decided to contact them both via text as I find this a more convenient way as I know Lyndon and Rachel will see the text before they read their emails.I have sent them both the same text which reads...
"I would like to film the rest of the footage for my music video this Wednesday. Please let me know if you are available on this day and I will give you more details soon, thanks."

Filming day.
I have been looking at the weather for this next week and have been deciding which day will be best to film the last little bits of footage for my music video. Since I am going back to 6th form on Thursday 5th January 2012 I want to film it either Tuesday 3rd or Wednesday 4th January 2012. This will enable me to get on with editing my music video as soon as I go back on Thursday.
From researching the weather for Tuesday and Wednesday on the 'BBC' website, I have discovered that Tuesday will not work in my favor.
From the image above taken from the BBC website, it shows that it will be raining for most of the day. However, around the time I want to be filming my music video (mid-day) it is only cloudy with no rain, but still I wouldn't want to take the risk of it raining whilst i'm trying to film. From the rain in the morning, the ground would be wet and so would the trees and as I may want to do some more filming in a wooded area this would not be appropriate. The wind is very strong as well and wouldn't work so well with the costumes my actors are wearing. The rain would change my music video as the footage I have already is in sunshine so this filming day has to mimic that.
Wednesday 4th January 2012 doesn't look so bad from this weather report from the BBC website.
From this image I have come to the decision that Wednesday will be the best day to film the rest of the footage for my music video. It is sunny but cloudy at times which would be ideal as there shouldn't be any rain according to this weather report. The wind is slower that Tuesday so although still quite strong it is an advantage to filming on Tuesday.
Overall, Wednesday 4th January 2012 is the best filming day before I go back to 6th form. Now I will inform Lyndon and Rachel that I have chosen Wednesday as my filming day.
