The record labels for Coldplay are Parlophone, EMI, Capitol and Fierce Panda.
I sent Parlophone an e-mail to get permission to use the Coldplays' '42' song in my music video.
'Dear Keith Wozencroft,
I am a student at a school on the East Coast of Yorkshire and part of my A-Level Media Coursework is to produce a music video, CD cover and website for a band or artist. After considering several options, I have decided on the song '42' by the band Coldplay.
I would like to request permission to use this track for my coursework. Please rest assured that the track will only be used for academic purposes and no commercial gain will be sought from it.
I would appreciate a swift response from you either way on this issue, in order that I may continue with my coursework.
