Laura Mulvey is a British feminist film theorist. Her theory is that everyone is viewed through a male perspective. This is why women are dressed in provocotive clothing escpecially in music videos as they think everyone is judging the women through male eyes. The women who watch the other women in the music videos begin to think that the scimpy outfits look good, sexy and what men really want. Women want to be them and men want to be with them. Laura Mulvey doesn't agree with this way of portraying women as it makes women seem like objects instead of people. Even female artists music videos have themselves dressed in provocative clothing and heavy make up as they think this is what everyone (men and women) want to see, but in reality this is not always the case.
